Regularly Scheduled Knitting

Alright. Alright. This is a knitting blog. Here is some knitting. I am through the leg of my first Nutkin. If you liked knitting the Monkey sock, you will enjoy the Nutkin pattern. Very similar in predictability of pattern. Knitting is quick and enjoyable. Of course, the Cherry Tree Hill yarn I am knitting with doesn't hurt either. I *heart* merino sock yarn. It doesn't last as long in the wearing department compared to sock yarn with nylon, but, oh, it is so nice to knit with.

Like how the army man is sleeping in it? We are all military all the time around here. Of course, our army men do not have guns and I am often asked why. :)

Check out the pajamas my mom knit for Bubba. Isn't the fabric hysterical? He picked it out. It is like the kid does not have my genes or something. He is CRAZY for military stuff lately. One of the moms at preschool asked me if Bubba is recruiting. I guess he is going around asking the other kids at schools (girls included, maybe he does have some of my genes after all) if they are going to be in the military with him. If you ask him the five branches of the US military, he prattles them off. At least when you ask him who he is voting for for president he replies, "Barack Obama." Of course, I think this has more to do with how fun the name is to say. Sometimes I will find him and Muskrat sitting there just saying, "Barack Obama" over and over.

The sock is great...but that picture is AWESOME. Connor is practically an Army recruiter and I am convinced that if it weren't for the thousands of miles between them, they would be best friends. :)

I LOVE that picture of Bubba!!

I am going to check out that sock pattern. I cast on last night for a second pair of monkeys, but am just not feeling it.

Oh... I tried keeping the teeny, tiny guns out of circulation, but that didn't last long. I don't allow big play guns, but somehow, fingers, legos, and just about any other toy eventually becomes a gun. I'm not sure I will ever understand boys. :(

it's me... I'm back, and I am jumping up and down with glee.

I LOVE the Nutkin sock pattern!! I am not kidding when I tell you that I actually logged onto the computer this morning with the intent of finding a sock pattern to knit. I just happened to check my blog feeds before heading over to ravelry.

thanks Holly Jo!!!!

Buzz Lightyear has nothing better then this boy. That expression is priceless. You should check with your local recruiters; the services could use a poster boy.

Aren't boys a hoot? My kids go crazy over anything that's camo. They'd love a pair of camo knitted socks ( I think Lorna's Laces actually has that colorway - crazy.)

Yeah - snow is melting. Back through the heel of the doomed sock - only the leg to do - groan.

That picture of Bubba is awesome! I can't help it; I love their angry faces. Olivia does this angry kissy face that cracks me up every time (must get a picture). And the pajamas! Awesome.

By the way, the sock is great. When I first saw it I thought you'd photoshopped some picture of a soldier in there. I think I need more sleep. ; )
